On an Excited State of the One-dimensional Optical Polaron

The variational-perturbation procedure of calculating a first excited state of one-dimensional polaron in weak coupling limit is proposed. It is shown that the energy of this state lies lower than the energy of scattering states and has a quasi-intersection with the ground state energy
