A brief review is given on a couple of key subjects in the nonlinear dynamics
of globally coupled dissipative oscillators. One is the phenomenon of
cooperative entrainment in populations of limit-cycle oscillators, and
the other is the effect of aging in assemblies of limit-cycle or chaotic
oscillators. This review is based on the author's recent work.
Key words:
coupled oscillators, cooperative entrainment, order function,
aging transition, universal scaling
