An Analytical Cage Model of Confined Molecular Rotation in Hydrogen-Bonding Liquids.
M. F. Gelin and A. P. Blokhin

An analytical model has been elaborated for the description of orientational relaxation in hydrogen-bonding liquids beyond the first cumulant approximation. The orientational correlation functions are uniquely determined by the three parameters: the in-cage libration rate, the hopping rate, and the memory parameter. The orientational correlation functions contain conventional exponentially decaying contributions, oscillatory damped sin- and cos- like contributions, and a slow algebraic tail.
Key words: orientational relaxation, hydrogen-bonding liquids
