Solar neutrinos are a source of information on the nuclear
reactions occurring in the core of the Sun. Till very recent the
real-time solar neutrino experiments were detecting the very tiny
fraction of about 0.01% of the total neutrino flux above some MeV
energy, the sub-MeV region remained unexplored.
At present Borexino is the only experiment in the world acquiring
the real-time solar neutrino data in the low-energy region, but
the scope of the experiment goes beyond the solar neutrino
measurements.
Key words:
solar neutrino, sub-MeV neutrino, liquid scintillator detector, large volume detector
