v2(pt) from 2D Angular Correlations and Centrality Evolution of the Azimuth Quadrupole pt Spectrum.
David Kettler

We have measured pt-dependent two-particle number correlations on azimuth and pseudorapidity for eleven centralities of 200 GeV Au-Au collisions at STAR. 2D fits to these angular correlations isolate the azimuth quadrupole amplitude, which is closely related to v2(pt), from jet correlations. Conventional event-plane v2(pt) measurements can be expressed as a sum of the azimuth quadrupole and the quadrupole component of measured jet correlations. %a fraction of measured jet correlations. Quadrupole amplitudes vs pt can be transformed to reveal quadrupole pt spectra which exhibit a fixed transverse boost and universal Lévy form nearly independent of centrality.
