Based on the matrix method, a theory of generation of evanescent
Bessel light beams (BLBs) into the structure containing a
metamaterial layer is developed. The exact solution is presented of
the problem of tunneling vector BLBs (TE and TM modes and their
linear superposition) through the layer surrounded by various
dielectric media in the conditions of total internal reflection on
its borders. The behavior of energy fluxes both inside the layer and
in ambient media is investigated.
