A Consistent Approach to Incoherent Scattering of Channeling Particles
Victor Tikhomirov

The incoherent scattering of planar channeling particles is quantitatively treated using Wigner function determined in the transverse phase space. The local approach of Kitagawa and Ohtsuki is substantially developed by taking into consideration the influence of nuclei distribution nonuniformity, incoherent scattering azimuthal asymmetry and suppression by collision correlation. A consistent method of incoherent scattering simulation, based on both RMS scattering angle and scattering probability evaluation using the introduced Wigner function, is outlined.

Key words: channeling, high energy beam, particle-crystal interaction
