Thomas Precession in General Relativity
Alexander J. Silenko

The Thomas precession in general relativity is considered. The tetrad method is used for an introduction of local Lorentz frames and a detailed analysis of local Lorentz transformations. Equations of motion in local Lorentz frames are formulated with the use of the Pomeransky- Khriplovich gravitoelectromagnetic fields. The local Lorentz transformations of these fields are determined. The general equation for the Thomas precession in Riemannian spacetimes is rigorously derived. Manifestations of Thomas effect in the Minkowski spacetime and curved spacetimes are compared.
