The design of track-processing devices with preliminary scan-to-scan selection of moving objects is considered, aimed at identifying true objects against a background of concentrated clutter discretes and intense (dense) clutter. The proposed scan-to-scan selection scheme comprises three channels, each forming its own clutter map; instead of a single map, two combined clutter maps with mutually overlapping cells are used. This reduces the number of residual plots caused by intermittent clutter discretes and shortens the associated transient effects in the clutter map. Mathematical modeling confirms that using two offset clutter maps increases the clutter-discrete suppression coefficient by up to 25% compared with a single map. For the radar performance considered, the optimal cell size is 270 m by 4.5, at which the processing device suppresses clutter with a radial velocity of up to 25 m/s.
