It has been suggested the method of high efficiency
second harmonic generation by Bessel light beams (BLB) based on
the usage of interaction of radiation with periodical medium,
having anisotropic (uniaxial) nonlinear defect layers. It has been
found that necessary conditions for effective frequency
transformation are coincidence of the conicity half-angle of BLB
with the phase-matching angle for the fundamental frequency and
selection of parameters of the layers so that fundamental
frequency of the light beam is in the vicinity of photonic band
gap border.
