Risk Evaluation of Ventricular Tachycardia and Ventricular Fibrillation Using Wavelet Transform of Heart Rhythm Variability.

A new method for automatic prediction of ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation using RR-intervals processing has been developed. The predictor uses the quantitative parameter based on wavelet transform of RR-intervals, which is proposed for discrimination between the subject?s stable state and inevitable paroxysm of ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation. The results show a significant difference for patients with tachycardia compared with the patients in stable state. The method was tested and verified on RR-intervals signals of the 56 patients with ventricular tachycardia and 25 patients with ventricular fibrillation.
