Deuteron Compton scattering below pion photoproduction threshold
is considered in the framework of the nonrelativistic diagrammatic
approach. The nonrelativistic version of the Bonn one-boson exchange
potential is used to generate the deuteron wave function and the NN-scattering
amplitude. A complete set of gauge-invariant diagrams is taken into account.
It is demonstrated how separate diagrams contribute to
the low-energy limit of the amplitude. The model is used to extract
the isospin-averaged dipole electromagnetic polarizabilities of the
nucleon from the available data.
